ACT partner Bikebook joins with BikeBiz to boost Mechanic of the Month campaign

Posted on 23 May 2025

ACT service partner Bikebook has teamed up with leading industry publication BikeBiz in a boost to the BikeBizMechanic of the Month’ campaign.

Bike Mechanic Laptop

The collaboration aims to highlight and reward the dedication and expertise of cycle mechanics across the UK by drawing greater attention to the campaign through Bikebook’s platform and community reach.

BikeBiz Mechanic of the Month was launched in early 2024 as a monthly initiative to recognise mechanics who keep the nation’s bikes in top shape with their knowledge and skill.

Each month, one mechanic is selected from public nominations to be featured in an exclusive BikeBiz interview and awarded a digital badge for use on their websites or social profiles. As part of the partnership, Bikebook is offering every monthly winner a complimentary subscription to its workshop management software, Workshop by Bikebook, for a limited time.

Jake Fieldsend, co-founder of Bikebook, said: “Supporting the BikeBiz Mechanic of the Month campaign was a no-brainer for us at Bikebook as it gives us another way of championing the many great workshops around the UK doing great work that we can see through our systems but they may never get credit further than their customer feedback.

“We already host our own Workshop of the Year awards and will be looking to combine the two campaigns together with BikeBiz to have one regular campaign that helps to spotlight the unsung heroes keeping us all on the road.”

Winners are selected from public nominations, which can be submitted via Bikebook’s online form, and anyone from customers to colleagues can nominate.

Recognition schemes like this are especially valuable in a trade where accreditation, such as ones provided by industry leading companies like Cytech, marks a mechanic as trusted, trained and professional and further cemets their reputation among peers and customers alike.

Members of the ACT get exclusive access to Cytech accreditation, as well as unique offerings through service partner and workshop management specialists Bikebook. ACT membership also provides cycling businesses with ePOS solutions, insurance packages, consumer bike finance options and more.

ACT encourages all members to get involved and nominate deserving mechanics to help them gain the recognition they deserve. Nominations are now open and can be submitted here.
