The Family Bike Club, based in London and a member of the ACT, aims to equip young people with practical skills to repair and maintain bikes.

The project, launched on Crowdfunder with a target of £14,500, also seeks to promote cycling accessibility through its "Go Slow" initiative, which aims to reduce the intimidation of city cycling by encouraging a relaxed, inclusive approach.

As part of the appeal, insurance firm Aviva has pledged to match donations up to £250 per donor through its Community Fund, doubling the impact of each contribution, while Sport England has also offered support to the project via its Movement Fund, which will match all pledges received as long as the club reaches its funding target.

The Enfield-based Family Bike Club has appealed to fellow ACT members to help in any way they can, whether through donating work stands for workshops, volunteering for mechanic training sessions, or offering general sponsorship.

Supporters can learn more and help by donating via the Crowdfunder page or by sharing the initiative to encourage others to contribute on X, formerly known as Twitter, using @thefamilybike and  #thefamilybikeclub.
