Cytech training provider Spokes People to deliver workshops at National Cycling Show 2023, opening this Saturday 17th June

Posted on 14 Jun 2023

Lee & Darren from Spokes People, one of Cytech's UK training providers, are attending the National Cycling Show this weekend and will be delivering various workshops and sessions for both experienced cyclists and first time tyre changes at The Bike Clinic, new to the show this year.

The clinic is your first stop for mechanical instruction and advice, with some sessions taking the form of hands on workshops with others featuring seminars, brand-specific demos and ask-anything sessions with professional cyclists, trainers and mechanics.

Schedule of sessions on both Saturday and Sunday:

  • 10:30 - 11:00: Emergency on the road fixes - learn how to identify and diagnose different types of punctures, how to remove and install a tire, how to use a tire lever, and how to properly inflate a tire.
  • 11:30 - 12:00: An introduction to Wheel Truing - providing you with the essential skills needed to true your wheels and keep your bike running smoothly.
  • 12:30 - 13:00: Intermediate wheel truing - learn how to identify and address complex wheel problems, such as spoke tension imbalances, lateral and radial runout, and centering.
  • 14:00 - 14:30: Gear set up 101 - Learn how to identify common gear issues, such as slipping or skipping gears, and how to properly adjust cable tension, limit screws, and derailleur position to fix them.
