Useful Information
Timings
The learning day starts promptly at 9am. Please arrive 10 minutes early so courses can start on time. Days will finish between 4.30pm and 5pm, depending on the day’s course content.
Getting here
Life Cycle Hub is located in the car park of HMP Bristol, just off Gloucester Road, which is well served by local buses. Walking from Ashley Down station takes 20 minutes. Cycling here? There is secure bike storage on site. You can’t park your car on the prison site, so if you’re driving, please use nearby residential streets. Click for map and directions.
How to find Life Cycle Hub
The workshop is in the “Life Cycle Hub” building (not the Create Centre): enter the HMP Bristol car park, follow the signs and turn hard right, walk through the big metal gates and through the plastic flaps until you see the Life Cycle sign on your right. If you can’t find the workshop or are running late, please call +44 (0) 7920 635 899.
What we provide
Each course participant has access to their own set of quality tools and learning materials, including “teaching bikes” to practice on. Aprons are provided but it is suggested you wear old clothes as you’ll encounter grease!
What to bring
Please bring proof of identity. You may wish to bring a laptop or tablet for note taking and accessing reference material, however this is not compulsory.
Lunch arrangements
Each day has a 45-minute lunch break. Bring your own lunch - or enjoy the shops and cafés a short walk away. If you eat in the workshop, please respect the tutor’s right to a break and allow them to prepare for the afternoon session. There are regular breaks and tea, coffee and snacks are provided. Let Life Cycle know if you have any dietary requirements.
