Meet the Trainers

I’ve been working on bikes for 46 years! My dad and I built a bike from a frame up when I was 10 years old, and I haven’t looked back since. I’m a Cytech master technician with over a decade of experience teaching cycle mechanics. Previously, I had worked as a self-employed bike mechanic and a primary school teacher. I’m committed to delivering training in a professional, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe that the most effective learning can take place when learners can be challenged whilst feeling comfortable and supported. |

I am a Cytech master technician and e-bike certified tutor mechanic with years of experience delivering cycle maintenance training. I enjoy helping people build practical, real-world skills in a friendly and supportive environment. As a mountain biker at heart, I prefer the downhills to the ups, but have a genuine passion for all things cycling. |

Mike holds multiple bike mechanic qualifications, including Cytech, and joined Life Cycle in 2016 as a freelance cycle instructor. He leads Bikeability sessions, one-to-one adult cycle lessons, and volunteering as a front rider for our Two’s Company project. Before joining Life Cycle, Mike worked as a tour leader and mechanic for Skedaddle Italia and European Cycle Tours. He has completed long-distance unsupported tours, including from Italy to Ghana, and India. Outside of cycling, Mike is passionate about music, playing violin and viola in orchestras, collaborating with poets and volunteering as a pianist at Southmead Hospital. |
